Rachel, a grant recipient, shares her adoption story:
In the early years of our marriage, I felt like God told me I was going to adopt. When I found out I was expecting our first son, I was excited and thought maybe the thought of adoption was just in my own head. Then, after years of trying for our second, my husband and I prayed for God to make it very clear to us how we were to grow our family. He made it very clear to us that we were to adopt as we learned through a medical emergency that the likelihood of us having another biological child was slim.
God did a big work in our hearts as we prepared our home and our family for adoption. We allowed ourselves to grieve, attend counseling, and let God heal our hearts from the pain of infertility and the trauma we’d walked through. When we found out we were chosen by Noah’s birth mother, we were very excited and thankful that we’d allow God to transform our hearts to align to His perfect will for growing our family.
The moment we met Noah, we were absolutely in love with him. He’s an absolute blessing and joy. We are so thankful to his birth mom for entrusting him to us. His life is a symbol of God’s love and redemption. God has used adoption to sanctify us in a very special way. We look forward to growing our family through adoption again!
