When Brent and I got married back in 2019, we only thought we knew how our story would unfold. But God, in His goodness, had something far greater in mind. We knew early on that we wanted to have a family, but we walked through several years of infertility. Although that season was hard to understand at the time, God used it to refine us, to teach us to surrender, and to prepare our hearts for the beautiful plan He had in store for our family. God aligned both of our hearts to His and we were led to a local adoption agency called New Life Adoptions.
God first blessed our family through adoption in March 2023, when our sweet and beautiful daughter, Josie, was born. That experience brought us not only the gift of a child but also a beautiful relationship with her birth family. We saw God’s love, grace, and redemption in a way we never could have imagined.
In January of this year, God added another chapter to our story. Just a week and a half after our home study was approved for a second adoption, we received a phone call that an incredibly brave mother had just given birth to a baby boy and had chosen us to be his family. Less than 24 hours later, we were meeting our son, Joseph, for the very first time.
The whole time we felt like He was withholding from us, He was working.
Joseph’s adoption was recently finalized, and we are now “officially” a family of four! The journey that led us to where we are today is a beautiful testament of God’s goodness and faithfulness. We are forever thankful that He brought Josie and Joseph into our family in His perfect timing and in His perfect way!
